Connecting your Meta Pixel allows Meta to attribute purchases to your Spotlights campaigns and optimize ad delivery toward people who are more likely to convert.
Why the Meta Pixel is required
Spotlights runs approved creator content as Meta Partnership Ads through ShopMy’s centralized Meta ad account. To optimize these campaigns toward purchases, Meta needs access to the primary Pixel installed on your website.
Your Pixel records conversion events, such as purchases, and provides Meta with the signals needed to:
Attribute purchases to your Spotlights campaigns
Optimize delivery toward people who are more likely to convert
Measure campaign performance and return on ad spend
A connected Pixel is required before your Spotlights can launch. Without the correct Pixel connection, Meta cannot properly attribute purchases or optimize your campaigns toward conversions.
Full Control and partial access
When sharing your Meta Pixel with ShopMy, we recommend granting Full Control. Full Control allows ShopMy to manage the connection end to end, which can make setup and troubleshooting easier.
If your team is unable to provide Full Control, partial access is also accepted. Partial access still allows your Pixel to be used for campaign measurement and purchase optimization, with no data loss compared with Full Control.
Neither access level gives ShopMy control over your broader Meta account. The connection is used only to support your brand’s approved Spotlights campaigns.
What ShopMy can and cannot access
ShopMy uses the Pixel connection only to support the measurement and optimization of your brand’s Spotlights campaigns.
ShopMy does not:
Access or export your customer data
Retain or repurpose your Pixel data
Share your Pixel signals across brands
Use your Pixel to optimize another brand’s campaigns
Modify your Pixel configuration
Create campaigns or change settings in your own Meta Ads Manager
Surface Spotlights campaign data inside your Meta Ads Manager
Each brand’s Spotlights campaigns are optimized independently using that brand’s own Pixel signals. When building your ads, ShopMy passes your Pixel ID to Meta. Meta then handles conversion attribution and campaign optimization on its side.
Before sharing your Pixel
Make sure you select the primary Meta Pixel currently installed on your live website. This should be the Pixel that:
Records Purchase events from your website
Shows recent activity from your domain in Meta Events Manager
Is used by your existing Meta campaigns for purchase optimization
Your Meta Business Manager may contain old, secondary, test, or agency-created Pixels. Sharing the wrong Pixel can prevent Meta from receiving the purchase signals it needs to accurately measure and optimize your Spotlights campaigns.
Pixel names can be customized and may not match your brand’s name, so confirm both the Pixel name and Pixel ID before sharing it with ShopMy.
How to share your Meta Pixel with ShopMy
Follow these steps in Meta Business Manager:
Go to business.facebook.com.
Open Settings in the bottom-left corner.
Navigate to Data Sources → Datasets & Pixels.
Select the primary Meta Pixel installed on your live website.
Select Partners, then click Assign Partner.
Enter ShopMy’s Business ID: 771873686949788.
Enable Full Control, which is the recommended option.
If your team cannot grant Full Control, you may provide partial access instead.
Complete the sharing process and notify your ShopMy account team.
ShopMy will then accept the share and connect the Pixel to your Spotlights account. Your account may show that the Pixel is awaiting connection until this step is completed on ShopMy’s side.
If you do not have a Meta Pixel installed
The connection steps above assume that your primary Meta Pixel is already installed and recording Purchase events on your website.
If your brand does not have a Pixel installed, your website or performance marketing team will first need to set one up through Meta. You can follow Meta’s instructions here:
Once your Pixel is installed and recording purchases, follow the sharing instructions above to connect it to ShopMy.
If the wrong Pixel was connected
You do not need to restart your Spotlights setup or repeat the creator-approval process.
Share the correct primary Pixel by following the same steps above, then contact your ShopMy account team. We will update the affected ads to use the correct Pixel.
Consider pausing your Spotlights while the connection is being corrected. If Meta is not receiving the appropriate purchase signals, it cannot accurately attribute results or optimize campaign delivery.
Once the correct Pixel has been connected and the ads have been updated, measurement and optimization can resume. Conversion data missed while the incorrect Pixel was connected cannot be backfilled, so we recommend correcting the connection as soon as possible.
No additional Google Tag Manager setup is required
Connecting your Meta Pixel for Spotlights does not require any additional setup in Google Tag Manager. The Pixel connection is handled through Meta Business Manager and ShopMy’s onboarding flow.
As long as your primary Meta Pixel is already installed and recording Purchase events on your live website, no separate Google Tag Manager changes are needed specifically for Spotlights.
