How can we help?

Shopify Integration Permissions

Below you can find additional detail on the Shopify integration. For all Shopify specific documents see here. For the remainder of ShopMy docs and various integrations, see here.

How do I find my collaborator access code?

You can view a video here on how to find your collaborator access code. If your team is leveraging Shopify Plus, you may alternatively be able to find this code by accessing "Settings" > "Users" > "Security", but if you're having any trouble seeing this please let us know

How do I accept collaborator access?

To accept a collaborator request in Shopify, you can:

  1. Log in to your Shopify Admin Dashboard
  1. Go to Settings > Users & permissions > Collaborators
  1. Review the request and permissions
  1. Accept or reject the ShopMy request
Why do you need collaborator access to my Shopify store and what permissions do you need?

We’ll request the following permissions to your store once we’ve received your collaborator code:

  • Manage Settings, under administration
  • Themes / Edit theme code under online store

Access to those settings will allow us to install a click tracking script as outlined here (under step 1), in case your click tracking falls off or we need to install it on your behalf. By adding this script to your site, you agree to comply with our affiliate terms, which are outlined here and were also included in your IO. In summary, the terms outline that ShopMy expects brands to pay commissions and refrain from unnecessary reversions of commissions on purchases.

Why and how do I need to create an app in my Shopify Store?

Our app establishes the connection between ShopMy’s network and your Shopify store for seamless order tracking, updated order management, discount code management, and powering your automated gifting experience. Even if your brand is not electing to leverage one or more of these features we will still need the full range of permissions enabled in order to connect to your Shopify backend.

Please note that the information being stored with ShopMy is limited to click volume, order volume, discount codes, and ShopMy IDs associated with an affiliate link. We do not store any personally identifiable information about your customers.

To install our app and click tracking, please follow the instructions linked here.

If you have any questions during the setup process, please do not hesitate to reach out to our team and we’re happy to help in any way we can.

How do I ensure affiliate tracking stays live?

We have checks set in place to make sure your affiliate tracking stays in place, however, certain changes you make to your site or buying experience can impact affiliate tracking. In order to ensure your tracking is working properly and there are no down periods, please make sure to keep the ShopMy team aware of any of the below types of changes:

  • Any major site changes
  • Changes to your checkout experience
  • Changes to your website domain
  • Major changes to tracking or tagging on your website

You can let your account manager know about these changes or if you are on our affiliate package email affiliates@shopmy.us.

When these changes occur, and we will make sure to re-test your affiliate integration to ensure that there is no interruption of your affiliate program to talent.
