Whether returns are automatically tracked (and commissions adjusted) depends on how your ShopMy account is set up. Here’s how it works based on your integration:
Shopify-Integrated Brands
If your brand is connected through the ShopMy Shopify App, order statuses sync automatically with your Shopify store.
- Full Returns or Cancellations: If an order is fully returned or canceled within the 30-day lock window, the order will be marked as canceled and the creator’s commission will be automatically reversed.
- Partial Returns or Cancellations: The order total will be updated automatically in both the Orders Log and the creator’s account.
- Note: There are no visual alerts for these updates—values simply reflect the adjusted total (e.g., if a $400 order is partially returned, it will update to $225).
- After 30 days, all orders are locked, and no further edits can be made.
Non-Shopify Integrated Brands
For brands not using the Shopify App, there are two options:
- Automated Tracking (Recommended):
You can add cancellation and update scripts to automatically track returns. This process varies by POS but is outlined in steps 3 and 4 here.
- Manual Adjustments:
If no scripts are added, your team will need to manually manage returns by adjusting or canceling commissions directly in the Orders Log.
