The key differences come down to how products are pulled in to Lookbooks and how orders are fulfilled.
Manual Lookbooks
- Not connected to Shopify.
- Product inventory and sizing are not automatically synced.
- ShopMy updates your product feed every 14 days, but it’s up to the brand to make sure items in the Lookbook are in stock and displaying accurate sizing.
- Orders must be fulfilled manually—brands are responsible for shipping products directly to creators, as orders don’t flow through Shopify.
Automated Lookbooks
- Fully integrated with Shopify.
- Products, inventory, and sizing update in real-time—if something sells out or a size is unavailable, the Lookbook reflects it immediately.
- Orders are automatically fulfilled through Shopify—creators select products, and the order processes like a standard online purchase with no manual shipping required by the brand.
Good to know:
- If your brand is integrated with Shopify, you can toggle between manual and automated Lookbooks at any time.
- If you’re not integrated with Shopify, your Lookbooks will default to manual.
- You can tell whether a Lookbook is manual or automated by looking at the banner image at the top of the Lookbook.
