A proposal is where you outline to talent how you want to partner with them including the types and subjects of the content you’d want them to create. A proposal can be very specific (e.g. seeking talent to promote a new launch or an upcoming sale), or it can be broad.
Proposals can be and are intended to be edited after sending. After sending a proposal, the talent will either accept a proposal, or they can chat with you and negotiate about the parameters of the proposal and you can adjust and resubmit it to them. Once talent accepts the proposal, it moves into the live collaboration phase where you’ll manage approvals and other details.
At the moment, proposals can’t be sent in bulk, but we’ve made it really easy to copy content from previous proposals. So we recommend taking the time to add details to your first one, and then you can make necessary adjustments as you send additional proposals to more talent.
Overview of Proposal Process
The below doc reviews all of the components of a proposal. For details on active collaborations see here.
Proposal Title
The default title of the proposal will be “Collaboration between YOUR BRAND and TALENT NAME.” To edit this, just hover over the title and write in your preferred title. If the proposal is specific, it’s good to include that in the title, for example “Glow with Sarah x Stylevana Semi-Annual Sale Coverage.”
Step 1: Establish Deliverables
Step 1 of the proposal is the most important and it includes an overview of what you’d like the collaboration to include, suggested deliverables, and prices.
→ Overview
The collaboration overview section of a proposal should include an overview of the type of the capacity you’d like to work with talent. Please try to specify:
- The subject of the content you’d like the influencer to create (e.g. is it covering a new launch, a sale, or is it up to the talent how they want to execute on this)
- The type of content you’d like them to create such as YouTube Video, Instagram stories, etc.
- Brief overview of budget and if the budget is strict or if you are open to negotiating on deliverables and price.
For example messages and guidance of what to include in the overview of a proposal, please see here.
→ Deliverables + Pricing
After writing the overview, you’ll add deliverables and set proposed prices for those deliverables. The title and price can be editing by hovering over the text and editing.
Step 2: Set Schedule
Step 2 of the proposal is where you can set due dates for the deliverables — both when content should be submitted to you for approval, and when content should be published.
Step 3: Link Materials
This tab is where you generate trackable links for talent and upload any relevant materials for the campaign.
→ Tracking links
This is where you add URLs that will autogenerate tracking links for the user you are proposing a collaboration with. Paste in the base link with no tracking parameters (we do that for you). For example, paste in a link like this: https://higherdose.com/products/infrared-sauna-blanket, and the trackable link that will be generated for the user when they accept the collaboration will look something like this: https://myshlf.us/p-377649.
Paste in the base link and tap + Add Link to add it to the proposal/collaboration. You can hover over the title and edit it to make it more descriptive.
Note that after adding links, your tracking links will look like the below. The trackable affiliate links (that look like this https://myshlf.us/p-377649) will not be generated for talent until after they accept the proposal.
→ Uploads
This is where you can upload files such as campaign briefs. Drop files in or upload via URL.
Step 4: Rates & Codes
The Rates & Codes tab is where you can view your current commission rates with a talent
Step 5: Final Review
The Final Review tab is where you review all of the materials associated with your proposal. Click Submit Collaboration Request when you’re ready.
Submit Proposal
When you Submit Collaboration Request a box will pop up where you can send a quick note that will appear in the chat with the talent.
The message that you attach will be sent like this in the chat:
